THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES
Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and three kids each for six weeks. Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes. There is no fast food. Each man must take care of his three kids, keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money. In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week. Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time--no emailing. Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment, and a haircut appointment. He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care. He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function. Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times. The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done. The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed. During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties. They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting. They will need to read a book to the kids each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth, and comb their hair by 7:00 am. A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up. The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice. If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called Mother!
After you get done laughing, send this to as many females as you think will get a kick out of it and as many men as you think can handle it. Just don't send it back to me.... I'm going to bed.

New Picture
Just now, I tried taking a self-portrait of my ever-growing tummy, using the refrigerator as a backdrop. None of the pictures turned out too great, so I'm just gonna post the one that, to me, looked the best.
We are going to start work on the nursery this weekend, I think - at least, that's the last plan I heard. :) To do that, we are planning to clean out our garage on Saturday, and get rid of a lot of the stuff in there, so that we can put the bed and desk from the back bedroom out into the garage. Then we can start bringing in the stuff we have already received from family and friends (thank you!!!) and start feeling like it's a baby's room back there. :)
I have one more "monthly" doctor visit, and then the visits go to twice a month - I can't believe how fast the next 3 1/2 months are looking to fly by! :) Zoe is 5 1/2 months along already... 25 weeks today. Her kicks are getting much stronger, and more often, but especially when I lay down to sleep at night. She mostly kicks on my right side, and I'm beginning to think she likes to feel Daddy's big strong hand, because her kicks aren't so strong when he tries to feel. :) We have another ultrasound scheduled for the middle of February, which is supposed to give us more "facial shots." This is such an exciting time! :)
Beautiful spring is right around the ko'no! We plan to plant grass in half of our front yard, and I hope to get some flowers planted, too. I'd like to take out the evergreen bush that's right next to the driveway, but we'll see if it's too big to waste time whacking at. :) If all that gets done, it will be quite the transformation out there! And Lord willing, no huge wind storms will knock down any more huge branches off the big tree like last year!
Time to turn the heater down and open up doors and windows! Time to get the house organized and ready for the baby! Time to get excited about a wonderful spring season! :) God is so good to His children, amen?!

She kicked for him!
I had a long day with lots of physical activity on Thursday, and got home wiped out! We laid down and David put his iPhone next to me, and turned on the music. Zoe woke up right away and started kicking - big time! :) She definitely liked the music. Well, I told David to put his hand on my tummy and - voila! Zoe kicked for him! He was soooooo excited!!!! His face lit up, just like when you plug in Christmas lights! :) Can't wait til she does it again! :)

Jalane
I can't get on your blogspot profile... guess it's private or something? I get a weird message when I try to click on your name.
For Jalane and Sydni
Jalane, I can't get on your profile! :( Boohoo! Zoe is pronounced with two syllables, like Zo-e. :) Depending on what we decide for the middle name, we may add a Y at the end to spell it Zoey, but only if it's a middle name that starts with E. We are thinking about Noelle or Addison right now.
Sydni, we were going to wait... but about two weeks before our ultrasound, David started waffling back and forth, wondering if we should find out. I told him I was fine with either way... we're still going to wait to have the shower until after the baby is born. So he surprised me and told me that part of his anniversary present to me was to find out if the baby is a boy or girl. I took him up on it! :) It was a mutual decision, too, because of being the day after Christmas when we found out (hence, the possible middle name Noelle). So that's the story in a nutshell. We will probably wait to find out next time - but the excitement of the first baby, finding out at Christmas, etc... :) it was pretty fun! :)
And just for the record, Zoe has long legs and big feet already! :)

New Year
Well, here it is - the new year has arrived! :) David is back to work this week. We are still putting away our Christmas stuff. I packed the tree ornaments two nights ago, but then realized we don't have enough tape to close the boxes and store them yet! Tonight, I took down the Christmas lights outside. I think David will pack the tree tonight and store it back in the garage, which means I get my bookshelves back in the living room! :) I'm only going to put back half the books, and use the other shelves to display some pictures and pretty things we don't really have room for anywhere else.
We are planning to work in the back bedroom and clean it to get it ready to become the baby's nursery. We need to clean the floor, because our last tenants had a dog stay in there, and sometimes when the heat collects in the room, it smells yukky like a wet dog! We may replace the window; otherwise, we will fix the one that's in there. My parents have found the pieces we need to fix it. My sister is making some Winnie-the-Pooh curtains, and I get to watch her do it sometime next week. We have been blessed with lots of baby items already, so we need to get them organized and put where they are going to go. I'm looking forward to having a little girl's room back there very soon!
The Parmesan chicken smells like it's done in the oven... better go get it out. :) We'll catch up some more later!
