Today

Zoe is now officially not only crawling, but pulling herself up to standing using certain large and sturdy objects. Her favorites are the boxes we have out ready to be wrapped for Christmas presents. She pulls herself up and then looks around for us to notice her standing. :) She loves crawling, and is getting faster and better every day. Her favorite things to play with are not, as one might think, the fun and colorful rattles and noisy toys. Alas, her favorites are cell phones and television remotes! When David found Zoe's spit up in his work iPhone, we figured it was time to start saying no to these most precious of toys. We are also starting the "no" phase for certain un-kid-friendly things around the house, such as the Christmas tree, the dining room blinds, and the cords to my laptop and other electronic devices. Currently, Zoe just crawled from the living room to her new favorite perch under the dining room table. She had her first booboo today when she hit her head on the table leg. A quick hug and kiss from Mommy and a few apple cinnamon Puffs made the pain diminish very quickly. :) She is happily occupied under the table looking up at me while I type this post. She laughs a lot and is starting to respond to us calling her name. All in all, she is turning into quite the social butterfly.

Here are a couple of pictures from this past weekend. Enjoy!

Zoe is 7 months old

As of yesterday, our little bundle of joy is 7 months old. She is absolutely adorable - officially crawling, making more effort at her sounds, and smiling all the time. :)

School is almost over - just another oh, two weeks or so. I think my last final goes away (it's online) on the 17th, so I am almost there. Then just four more months in the spring, and I'll have my associates. Just a piece of paper, I know. lol :) :)

David is in the kitchen right now making himself some dinner, and Zoe is crawling around on the floor here next to me - starting to fuss like she's almost ready for bedtime, so I'd better scoot and give her some food. :) Thought I'd post a couple pictures, too. Hope you enjoy!

Of Croup and Colds...

So little Zoe has croup this week. :( She is coughing and sounds pretty wheezy, but this is her fourth day and she is starting to get better. David and I have colds, and we will be getting better any day now. At least we all got sick at the same time, so we can be done and over soon. :) :)

Zoe is 6 Months Old!

Zoe is now 6 months old (as of yesterday!). She is the most adorable baby EVER! :) She has started pushing herself over from her back onto her tummy. She stuffs her whole hand into her mouth, and I think she is teething again, too. She laughs a lot and just adores her daddy!! She sits up when propped by her Boppy pillow, and she is finding interest in toys and stuffed animals. She sleeps through the night - usually an 8-10 hour stretch, then feeds once, and sleeps another 2-4 hours, for a total of 12 or so hours. We love our little girl so much!

We "celebrated" Zoe's half birthday after church yesterday with my parents. We went to Village Inn and ate breakfast, while Zoe slept in her car seat. LOL :) Yesterday was also our nephew's 4th birthday, so we went to his party yesterday afternoon. Then we had dinner with David's dad and stepmom and his sister and her family at Outback - it was my first time there - and dinner was good. :)

It is November and plans are underway for our Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Can you believe it?! Winter is right around the corner! The snow last week and the warmer weather this week prove we are in Albuquerque. :) If you don't like the weather one day, wait around and see what it's like the next day. LOL

Here are some current pictures of Zoe. Enjoy!

Our Pagosa Springs trip

We had a nice trip to Pagosa Springs this last weekend with a couple sets of friends. I thought I'd post some pictures, but I can't really put all of them up, because I took over 300 pictures. I won't even post 100 of them, I promise, as I did on my facebook. :)

Zoe did pretty well this trip, but she didn't sleep as good as she does here at home. The weather was beautiful up in Pagosa - sunshine and 60 degrees every day. We stopped a lot on the way and on the way back to sightsee and to eat. All in all, it was a good trip.

Here are the pictures. Enjoy!

Been a While....

Hello all!

I was looking at a friend's blog, and realized it's been almost a month since I posted on my own. Sorry, folks! Guess when I can't post pictures, my motivation to keep up goes down, too. (Like that play on words?) :) Well, I won't be posting pictures for a while, anyways, since I lost my camera yesterday in the pumpkin patch. A search this morning (while observing beautiful balloons blowing over Corrales) didn't lead to the missing camera, so we did lose all of Zoe's first Balloon Fiesta pictures. :( Sad times! Maybe I'll talk David into buying me a new camera for an early Christmas present! :) lol

Zoe is growing well. She is almost 5 1/2 months old, and weighs 13 lbs. She has started eating baby food - she likes applesauce, peaches, and green beans. Next week, we'll start her on carrots and peas. She "talks" a lot with us, and smiles almost all the time. She doesn't care for time in her playpen; she'd rather be sitting with Mommy or Daddy, and tummy time usually turns into crying time. :( She hasn't rolled over yet, but is getting really close. :) She usually sleeps from 7:00pm until 3:30am, then a quick eat, and goes back to sleep until 6:55am (that's when our sprinklers automatically come on in the backyard). She usually stays awake until around 9:00am, when she takes a 1-2 hour nap (depending on the day). Sometimes she takes a nap in the afternoon, and most days she doesn't. :)

Speaking of a happy baby, she is actually crying her eyes out in her playpen now, so I guess I'd better go get her!

Catch up with you again soon!

Catching Up

We have been busy in the last few weeks... I was talking to my mom yesterday, and she mentioned there have not been any new blog posts in a while (hint!). So I thought I'd post an update (minus the pictures - still haven't figured that one out yet!).

We are doing okay. :) I think I have strep throat this week, but David is healthy, and so far, Zoe is doing really good. Right now, she's waking up from a nap in her swing. She is growing so much! She's almost 4 1/2 months old, and goes for her checkup next Tuesday. We'll see at that appointment how much she weighs. She has started to hold things in her hands, and is just beginning to realize things can go in her mouth! :) She loves to laugh, and smiles all the time. I have a video clip of her yesterday, which I will post when I figure out how to get it off my camera onto David's Mac. :)

School is going fine. Lots of homework, though! David starts seminary classes at our church next Tuesday. He is super excited about that! He's going to have a busy year, but he loves to stay busy (otherwise, if he sits still, he falls asleep! lol).

We are really enjoying our new house. It is amazing - we haven't bought new furniture, and with how well it fits in here, I'm amazed we fit it all in the other place!! The Lord has graciously provided tenants for both sides of our duplex (one of the families is Christian, too!). David is busy finishing up getting both sides ready.

Ut oh! Zoe has started crying (I moved her to tummy time in her playpen). Guess I better go save her! :) :)

Surprise!

I had a surprise last night - David brought home fresh flowers for Zoe and I. Awww, how sweet! They are beautiful, too!

Hmmm....

This is what I look over and see when I ask David to watch Zoe so I can finish making dinner last night: :)

Good morning!

Good morning, y'all! A new morning brings with it a new post (ah ha - something you haven't seen on this blog for a while! lol)... Zoe has fallen asleep in her swing (the one we borrowed from Mom and Dad), and the music is playing such soothing lullabies that I feel sleepy again, too. Did I say "again" - as if there has been a time I haven't felt sleepy? LOL! Babies will do that to you! :)

Things have been pretty busy for our family in recent weeks, but hope is in sight - things will slow down soon. :) Zoe is growing very well. She is 3 months old already, and just as cute as they come. No, she is cuter than they come!!! Absolute adorableness wrapped up in that little girl! Here is a couple pictures of her in the last month.

Lots to do... places to go, people to see... so I need to sign off for now. Lord willing, I'll be on more regularly now (no, my computer hasn't been fixed, but I am now using David's). Talk to y'all soon!

Why I Haven't Been Posting Lately...

I haven't been posting much lately, because my laptop died :( and I only get on right now when I borrow someone's computer. Thought I'd update today from my sister's laptop and let y'all know. *wink*

Lunch with Kaycee

Today we had lunch with Kaycee and Charissa at Chick-Fil-A. It was sooo good to see her!! Can't wait 'til they move back to Albuquerque! :) Here's some pictures of the lunch. :)

Worst Science Experiment EVER!

So, today ended an era of the worst science experiment EVER! There is no exaggerating the emphasis on "EVER..." We left a pumpkin under our kitchen table for 10 months. That's right, not 10 days, not 10 weeks, but 10 MONTHS! David was convinced that he would be planting that pumpkin in our yard (those who know where we live will laugh at the picture of that! lol), and we'd have a whole pumpkin patch by this October. I'm not sure, but I guess the idea was that we'd be rich millionaires after kids from all over the city flocked to our tiny yard, picking out their favorite golden-orange pumpkin from our home-grown patch. *wink

Well, needless to say, about a week ago, I noticed one or two spots of mold on the outside of the pumpkin under our table. I begged David, "Now that it's moldy, can we throw away the pumpkin? I'll buy you another pumpkin in 2 months, and we'll see what we do with that one..." Not quite ready to part with his long-standing pumpkin patch dream, David denied my request with the almost-persuasive statement, "The mold will be good for the soil."

Yesterday, I noticed that the mold patch had grown quite a bit, so I took two pictures and emailed them to David (who was not at home preparing the ground for his planting, but instead was at work helping people and making real money [no wonder?]). Convinced by the pictures of the not-so-small mold patch, he finally agreed I could throw it away (although I'm still wondering if his giving-in was due more to my bugging him about it?).

So, today was the big day! All prepared with a garbage bag to move the pumpkin onto, reality hit (hard!) and I quickly realized this was going to be a little bigger and a lot grosser than I had thought... maybe I should leave the rest of the story to your imaginations! I'll end with the tidbit that I disinfected the floor (and my hands) after everything was said and done. And no, I don't have any pictures of today's ordeal - didn't want to go into too much detail! Any picture you have in your mind will do. :)

Elijah and Sarah's wedding

Elijah and Sarah got married on Saturday!!! It was a very beautiful ceremony, followed by a great reception. I caught them on the chat this morning - they said they are both really tired, but safely arrived for their honeymoon in Scotland. Can't wait to see their pictures when they return! I thought I'd post one of Zoe, all dressed up for the special occasion! :)

Cell Phone Ringers

Zoe and I just had a fun "moment" - I was checking a text message and Zoe's eyes were glued to the cell phone as I moved it. So I played around with my ringers, and she watched the cell phone as I "danced" it to the tune. She was fascinated with it - and when Fuer Elise started playing, her eyes lit up and she started smiling and laughing (her little squeals); she apparently recognized it from her swing, which plays that song! :) :) That was a kewl moment! :)

Zoe's First Isotopes Game

We are getting ready to go to Zoe's first Isotopes game. We were given club seat tickets, and Zoe gets in free. :) I had to dress her in attire appropriate for the event (thank you, Lauren!).

Zoe's 2 month checkup

Zoe is two months old today! Wow, time is flying by so fast! :) She now weighs 8 lbs, 10 oz, and is 21" long. She is growing slowly, but surely - I still think she will end up taller than I am! (that's not hard, right?! he he)
We ran some errands today and she did very well, especially considering all the getting in and out of the car. *wink* She laughs and makes some happy noises (more like screeches, I guess), but she loves her play time with Mama and Daddy. I was changing her diaper last week, and she was a bit fussy, until... I smiled at her, and she momentarily paused, and smiled back - and quit fussing. :) At her check up today, the doctor was very impressed with how well she held up her head; she said Zoe acted more like a three month old in that respect! Yay for good tummy time! :)
Tomorrow, I'll have my 4 year old niece with us for the day - it's the last day she's 4, too, because on Friday, she'll be 5 years old. We're going to her birthday party at noon on Friday, but I'm still not sure where the place is (Bounce?). lol. On Saturday, we are going to lunch with some friends, and I hope to watch the fireworks display that evening with my family... guess I better call everyone and see what they're all up to!! :)
I hope everyone has a great July 4th weekend! I'll post more later.

Father's Day - Silver City

We went to Silver City this weekend to see David's dad for Father's Day. I thought I'd post some pictures and take you on a "tour" of our trip. :)

First stop: Deming, NM, Friday afternoon. We saw Uncle Waldo and Auntie Nae at their house.

Then we drove on to Silver City, where we went to dinner with Grandpa Waldo, Grandma Debbi, and Uncle Jeremy.

We stayed Friday night at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Zoe slept for 8 hours with no feedings (we had started her sleeping through the night earlier last week).
On Saturday, we drove out of Silver City to somewhere near Bill Evans Lake, where Uncle Brenten and Auntie Angel were camping. We had lunch there, and got our feet wet in the river (well, it was a chance for Zoe to wear her new swimsuit anyways). :) David went upriver a little ways and got a close up shot of a beautiful crane.

After we were done in the river, we ate some "Underground Cake" that Auntie Angel had made - literally underground! Uncle Brenten dug a hole, and filled it with charcoal from the fire, and covered the pot with dirt, and 45 minutes later, we had a delicious Betty Crocker chocolate cake. :) Yum!

We spent some more time visiting with family before heading out of Silver City back to Deming.

In Deming, we took Uncle Waldo and Auntie Nae to dinner at The Patio for their first anniversary. Dessert was a wonderful strawberry maltshake - YUMMY!

We drove home Saturday night, got home just before 1:00 Sunday morning. We stopped in T or C, and at the McDonald's, there was a huge tarantula that I begged David to get a picture of, so here is that one:

Zoe did great on her first road trip - here is a picture of her when we got home:
